DESCRIPTION:The Sixteen will be returning to Chichester Cathedral for the 6th year running in February as part of their tour of Handel’s opera Acis & Galatea. His most popular work during his lifetime\, now forgotten in comparison with his Messiah\, this will be a rare opportunity to hear it performed with exactly the same forces – just five singers and nine instrumentalists – as it was premiered by in 1718. \nTickets are £15 – £30\, but with half price tickets available for students\, anyone under-35\, job-seekers\, people living with a disability and their carers. SUMMARY:Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning
DESCRIPTION:Scrumptious cakes\, mugs of tea and coffee\, and time to chat. We thought this was a great way to start a Saturday morning\, unwind and help bring even more people together. We will therefore be holding the event on the last Saturday of September. Help us to support this important charity to support… those dealing with cancer. \nCake donations are welcome – we would be grateful if cakes can be labelled if being dropped off on the day. There will be chance to add your messages and doodles on the day to our popular art board which\, as in previous years\, will be sent to the charity. \nWe will also have a rail where you can sell your nearly new clothes to raise some further funds for the vital work of this charity. \nThe Fishbourne Community Coffee Morning in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Research charity is always popular and a great way to catch up with people or just sit and enjoy being pampered with cake and refreshments. We are particularly grateful for the support every year from across the area\, from the Village Magazine and the local dog walking community too. There will be a prize again this year for any dogs and handlers helping to publicise or fundraise for the event. \nAll are welcome to join us at the Fishbourne Centre. Suggested donations will be £4 for hot drink (unlimited refills) and a slice of cake\, free for under-5s. \nThe Fishbourne Community’s World Biggest Coffee Morning brings together volunteers from across the village and surrounding area and from groups that meet locally. Thanks to assistance from the Fishbourne Centre and all our volunteers\, this is always a popular community event\, raising money to support families facing cancer. We look forward to seeing you there! Bring on the cakes. Yummy!

National planning policy requires us to plan to meet expected development needs.\nOur current Local Plan was adopted in 2015 and we are working on a review to ensure it remains up to date. The Local Plan Review will shape how the area develops over the next 15 years – and we want your thoughts.\nOur plan does not cover areas of Chichester District that fall within the South Downs National Park\, which produces its own plan.\nWe live and work in an incredibly special place and we want to keep it that way. Reviewing the Local Plan will help us to protect the area\, while also addressing the area’s needs.\nThe Local Plan will help to:\nchoose where development goes;\nprotect the character and beauty of the area;\nprovide job and housing opportunities so that our children can continue to work and live locally;\nsupport and help to boost the local economy;\nhelp our residents to maintain healthy and active lifestyles; and\,\nmake sure that we have adequate services\, travel options and community facilities.\n\nWe realise that there is a shortage of suitable homes; well-paid local jobs; and important facilities and services. This is our chance to work with you to make sure that our area has a bright future\, with a strong economy\, and a thriving working age population.\nWithout an up to date Local Plan we will not be able to access vital funds to support our communities. By controlling new developments we have the opportunity to focus development in the most appropriate locations.

DESCRIPTION:Choice Care Group are proposing to demolish the existing Garden Room Studio building on the A259 Road –\nFishbourne\, and replace it with a contemporary residential community home development. \nThe new development will meet the growing local demand for high quality residential care services. The buildings\,\nincluding 6 beds and 4 annexe apartments\, is a residential community home for adults with disabilities such as learning disabilities\, autism and mental health conditions. The landscaping will play a part in the function of the building. \nWe are keen to engage with as many local residents as possible to enable people to understand and support both the development and the service once operational. We will subsequently hold an open day for local people to come and view the facility once completed.
