Grow Selsey Seed & Plant Swap is a great opportunity to share\, learn\, and pick up something new for your garden. \nBring along your spare seeds\, seedlings\, or plants to swap\, or just come for a chat and some gardening inspiration.  We also have lots of pots\, trays\, and tools\, and our homemade preserves produced from fruit collected during the Abundance Fruit Project. \nGrow Selsey is a project which involves local people in a variety of sustainable gardening projects in and around the Selsey area.  We run The Hidden Garden\, a community garden\, designed to help and inspire people to become involved with growing fruit\, vegetables\, herbs and flowers along with providing spaces for wildlife to thrive.  Looked after by a dedicated team of volunteers we work with local schools\, adults with learning needs and host Forest School projects.  We also offer the local community a kitchen waste recycling scheme using our Ridan Food Waste composter to create material to feed our community garden. \nFree entry

DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss Chichester’s first Emergency Services and Community Day on Sunday 24 August people are being reminded to get the date in their diary. \nThe event is free to attend\, and people are invited to come along to Oaklands Park between 10am and 4pm for what promises to be a fun-filled family day out. \nThroughout the day there will be an exciting programme of educational live demonstrations from fire\, police\, ambulance\, and coastguard crews and visitors can expect to see a range of current and historic emergency services and military vehicles on display. \nChildren and families can enjoy music\, entertainment\, and activities including bouncy castles and fairground rides. A variety of refreshments will be available from food vendors and concessions along with dedicated picnic and play areas. \nA range of interactive community stalls run by local charities\, small businesses\, support services\, and organisations will be available to browse\, and visitors can also bring their pets along for dog behaviour and training advice. \nAnton Mezzone\, Station Manager at Chichester Fire Station\, said: “We are very excited for this event and the opportunity to bring all our emergency services partners together to showcase the fantastic work they do. \n“There will be something for everyone to enjoy including live demonstrations and performances\, a display of fire engines\, police vehicles\, ambulances\, and helicopters\, children’s activities\, and interactive community stalls. \n“This is the first time an event like this has been held in Chichester for more than 25 years. The aim is to promote greater community resilience and provide an inclusive and memorable event for residents and visitors alike. We cannot wait to welcome everyone to this event\, and we hope to see lots of people there.” \nThe event is being organised by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service in collaboration with South East Coast Ambulance Service\, Sussex Police\, HM Coastguard\, West Sussex County Council\, Chichester District Council\, and Chichester City Council in support of the Fire Fighters Charity.

Residents of Selsey are opening their gardens once again\, with more than 25 gardens available to explore\, including several new gardens taking part for the first time. There will be something of interest for everyone. Gardens of all shapes and sizes with innovative features\, spaces for nature\, and lots of exciting ideas to inspire your own creations. \nWhy not start at the community garden\, The Hidden Garden\, where you can park and begin your tour aided by our new transport options (see below). \nDuring the day a variety of live entertainment including The Selsey Molls\, Cloud 9 Musical Theatre\, Selsey Naked Ukeleles\, and Dave’s Music will be performed. SUMMARY:Good Food For All Feastival
DESCRIPTION:A new free food event aimed at showing people how to eat healthy and cook satisfying meals on a budget will be taking place later this month in Chichester city centre. \nChichester District Council has partnered with the Goodwood Estate for this new ‘Good Food For All Feastival’\, which will take place on Saturday 29 March from 10am to 6pm. \nThe event will feature a stage with a kitchen to showcase a series of short demonstrations\, presentations and talks from local chefs\, including celebrity chef Jameson Stocks. Jameson is an internationally renowned\, Michelin-starred chef who has multiple restaurants around the world and lives in Chichester District. He also runs Just Street Food at The Ghost at the Feast in North Street\, Chichester. \nIn addition\, there will be a variety of stands where people can find delicious street food and drink\, or can chat to a range of food\, nutrition and wellbeing experts\, including some of our local producers and food businesses. \nMembers of the public will be able to watch local food experts\, including head chefs from the Goodwood Estate\, cook up a range of culinary delights and hear advice on how to use local or speciality ingredients. Goodwood will also have some of their delicious farm shop produce for people to taste\, including organic kafire and cheeses. \nRepresentatives from locally based UK Harvest\, which works to reduce food waste and increase access to nutritious food for less\, will also be attending and offering advice on how best to utilise simple ingredients. They will be running a ‘Question and Answer’ session from the stage during the day\, and attendees are encouraged to interact as much as possible. \nThe stage will be set up in East Street (outside of HSBC bank)\, with music from 10am\, and a program of demonstrations taking place between 11am and 4pm. The music will carry on through to 6pm to offer an opportunity for people to stay and enjoy the early evening atmosphere in the city. \n“I think this event is a great idea and ties in with a lot of what my work is all about\,” says celebrity chef\, Jameson Stocks. “I know from personal experience\, having been homeless myself many years ago\, what it is like not knowing how to cook. Being able to cook a few very simple dishes can make such a huge difference to your general health and wellbeing and this is an area where I really want to make a difference.” \nCouncillor Harsha Desai\, Chichester District Council’s Cabinet Member for Growth\, Economic Development\, Communication\, Licensing and Events\, says: “This event has been designed to help people make the most of the amazing food and produce around us locally\, and to give people ideas on how to use up the fruit and vegetables and other ingredients that always seem to get left behind in the fruit bowl or the fridge! \n“It’s about giving people the confidence to turn the food that they buy into the most delicious and nutritious meals using some simple tips from local experts\, and we’re really delighted that Goodwood Estate has come on board with us. \n“This is a fun and inclusive event for everyone across the district\, with something of interest for everyone\, whatever their budget or taste. The idea is that you can come along and watch a ten-minute demo and come away with some fantastic ideas to try out in your own kitchen!” \nThe event will run from 10am to 6pm in East Street and North Street\, Chichester.

DESCRIPTION:Choice Care Group are proposing to demolish the existing Garden Room Studio building on the A259 Road –\nFishbourne\, and replace it with a contemporary residential community home development. \nThe new development will meet the growing local demand for high quality residential care services. The buildings\,\nincluding 6 beds and 4 annexe apartments\, is a residential community home for adults with disabilities such as learning disabilities\, autism and mental health conditions. The landscaping will play a part in the function of the building. \nWe are keen to engage with as many local residents as possible to enable people to understand and support both the development and the service once operational. We will subsequently hold an open day for local people to come and view the facility once completed.
