We have just received notification from CDC that our allocation for the revised Fishbourne Neighbourhood Plan has been reduced from 250 to 40. Great news I’m sure you will agree!
However, we must make it clear that this is not yet the end of the story. It will probably be a year before the Local Plan process is completed and until then any applications will be dealt with under the Interim Policy Statement for Housing Development and the “presumption in favour” regulation in NPPF. The closer CDC get to the submission stage of their Local Plan (and we get to the final draft of our plan) the greater “planning weight” will be attached to our draft plans.
In the meantime, we will have to keep a close scrutiny on any applications from developers who will be keen to take advantage of the interim period.
