Keep fit for free in Fishbourne
New outdoor gym equipment has been installed in Fishbourne – giving residents the chance to exercise free of charge.
The eight pieces of equipment, including balance beams, cross trainer, and air skier, have been bought by Fishbourne Parish Council and sited on land owned by the Fishbourne Playing Fields Association, in a joint project.
The Chairman of Fishbourne Parish Council, Geoff Hand, said: “Everyone is more aware of the need to stay healthy and active, and this equipment means that everyone in the village now has free access to top class facilities. And because it’s outdoors, people will get plenty of fresh air too.”
The equipment paid for with money from the New Homes Bonus — cash which comes from central government to areas where new houses have been built, for improvements to communities.
